Q: What is the cost for your Service?
A: Handy Home Guy's competitive rate is so low and reasonable, we are not sure if we can legally post it online. All kidding aside, we do have great rates. Our jobs are quoted on a case by case basis. Why? Because of a wide range of variables. For instance, repairing a toilet in Newland today when our closest technician is in Fleetwood would cost more than putting it off until the next day when we are already scheduled to be in Linville. We will always try to schedule to assure you will receive the lowest rate possible.
Normal working hours are from 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. After hours, weekend and holiday emergency service is billed with an additional $50.00 call fee.
Q: Are all jobs billed by the hour?
A: Yes & No. Most projects, particularly those not needing immediate attention, will be quoted by our estimator based on his years of experience and knowledge. We use "Book Time", for most projects, much like what you would find in an automotive dealership. This generally reduces your overall costs. Our estimator has 26 years experience in this business and will be able to quote most projects right down to the dime. On minor emergency jobs, such as thawing frozen pipes or repairing a water leak, we would charge by the hour.
Q: Who will come to my house if I schedule a visit with Handy Home Guy?
A: A uniformed Handy Home Guy professional will arrive at your home or office in a clearly marked van or truck. He will be further identified by a clearly displayed I D Badge, showing his photograph and name, as well as our company name. Your Handy Home Guy is an employee**, not a subcontractor, and possesses an above average skill level in all areas of home repair and improvement.
**Handy Home Guy will, on occasion, bring into a project, a NC State regulated licensed contractor for certain plumbing and electrical jobs, as required by law. When this occurs, a Handy Home Guy employee will always be on-site during the course of their work. Their work and payment requirements will be contracted directly with you. These contractors are not covered under our General Liabilty Insurance. However, Handy Home Guy WILL NOT connect you with a contractor that is not insured under their own General Liabilty Insurance coverage!
